Optional Backboard
The RSS™ can be purchased with or without a fitted backboard. The backboard slips into a discreet internal pocket of the rucksack without altering the shape, and invisibly adds to the protection of any equipment carried inside.

The RSS™ can be used to extract casualties with injuries ranging from unconsciousness and fractures to potential back injuries. The backboard has extendable foot and head supports to cater for different heights.
Detachable Side Pouches (2nd Daysack)
The RSS™ has two external side pouches, each with an attached shoulder/belt strap. When unzipped from the main rucksack the pouches can be zipped together to form a smaller day sack that can be carried either over both shoulders or around the waist. The contents from inside the RSS™ main compartment are then transferred into these side pouches for carrying, and / or distributed amongst the other members of the team. (Fig. 5). (Detachable Side Pouches)
Optional Detachable First Aid Bum Bag

The RSS™ has an external (optional) first aid 'bum bag', which can also be unzipped from the RSS™ and carried around the waist should the rucksack need to be used as a stretcher.
The bumbag can carry essential first aid stores for use in the field. Once clipped around the waist the bag rolls down the leg to show and display first aid stores in three clear plastic compartments.
Inner Grab Bag
The RSS comes with an internal 'grab bag' that has shoulder straps attached which holds all users contents so if you are using the RSS in the stretcher mode, the bag with contents pulls out and is carried separately protecting the users belongings from the elements.
(Price on application and reduction on bulk orders Price includes the main body rucksack / detachable first aid bag / side pouches / backboard / inner grab bag)
Casualty Lifting
(Warning: It is strongly recommended NEVER to move a casualty with a possible spinal injury. However in extreme life threatening situations you may need to extract the casualty from immediate danger, such as a fire or collapsing building. The RSS's™ built in stretcher will assist in reducing unnecessary injury to the casualty. This is emergency stretcher system is NOT designed to replace the use of paramedic or emergency services stretchers, if and when available.)

The nature of the casualty's injury will decide how best to strap and
secure them into the system prior to extraction.
